Beloved Gethsemane Church Family,
It is indeed a pleasure to bring you Sabbath greetings.
I am a pastor in mourning, missing my beloved church family. Carol and I are having a hard time adjusting to the strangeness of social distancing. Mindboggling! I am sure you are all trying to cope as well. Sending you love via email and online.
Of course, I am looking forward to our live-streaming Sabbath service. Thanks Elder Bryant and Sis. LaVerne Robinson for getting legal clarification of the Governors “Stay home” order. We are assured that religious gatherings can take place with a minimum number of people (not more than ten). We will be live-streaming from the church at 10:30 AM. There will be a special Sabbath School service for the children and fun crafts from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Items needed are white computer paper or any construction paper, crayons or markers, pencil, stick pretzels, and grapes for snack. Children, please be sure to text me a picture of your finished craft project. I would love to see what you have done.
Brothers & Sisters, please remember that you may return your tithe/offering on-line or via mail to Gethsemane’s post office box: Gethsemane SDA Church, P.O. Box 46165 Raleigh, NC 27620. Thank you for being a conscientious steward and know that your faithfulness does make a difference.
Gethsemane, please be aware of the following update from the South Atlantic Conference:
- There are five known cases of the COVID-19 virus in our Conference. Please intercede in prayer for these members.
- The Conference office will be operating on a modified schedule with a staff of seven employees beginning on Monday. This schedule will be in effect until April 6th and modified thereafter from week to week.
- South Atlantic Conference is planning a Building Committee meeting and a Finance meeting. Please pray that our church project will be a part of the agenda and for God’s blessing regarding our need. To our knowledge all the required items have been email to all of the members of ADCOM.
I know our prayer list is forever growing but I must ask again that you please remember to pray for those in our church family who are on the front-line fighting this vicious virus.
Seniors and others, if you need assistance please do not hesitate to call your Pastor. We will do our best to help you get your needs taken care of.
Dr. Larry E. Johnson, Pastor
